In this video interview, JGT’s Editor Bob Bakert talks to Eastman Guitars about their newest models – the Cabaret and the Romeo.

Otto D’mbrosio and Dan Statvold discuss how the challenges of Covid 19 has had a positive effect in developing teamwork, both internally and with other companies. They also review aspects of two of their latest models – the Caberet and the Romeo. More information about the guitars below –

Romeo, the first model of a brand new series created by Master Luthier, Otto D’Ambrosio, features an entirely unique cutaway body style, designed from the ground up, with a solid spruce top and mahogany laminate on the back and sides. The choice of woods speaks directly to Otto’s vision of a lightweight, versatile, ergonomically constructed guitar that delivers maximum comfort. The addition of two Lollar custom-wound Imperial Humbuckers provides an extreme flexibility of sound, making it one of the most versatile guitars in our lineup. In the words of designer, Otto D’Ambrosio: “Keeping true to my ‘player first’ design objective, the Romeo’s voice combines the best plug-in signal, colored by its sweet semi-hollow body construction. The controls are simple yet provide a player with a full range of useful tones.”

Eastman announces the Cabaret – a collaboration with Master Luthier, John Buscarino. The Cabaret combines traditional nylon guitar build methods with modern innovations, making it a must-have for jazz and fingerstyle players. Equipped with an LR Baggs LB6 pickup, Schaller GrandTune tuners, a cutaway for greater upper register access, and a beautiful flamed maple carved back that enhances projection and lower mid-range clarity. Its narrower nut width makes the instrument feel familiar and approachable for electric guitarists. The Cabaret updates a traditional style to suit the needs of the modern player. “The two-way truss rod makes for easy setup and the oval hole adds a modern touch to the overall aesthetic. The Cabaret is a well-designed modern classical guitar that’s versatile enough for all of your nylon string needs.” – John Buscarino.
