Guitarist Ted Ludwig demonstrates the Mark Campellone Special from the Blue Guitar Collection – video #4 in the series.
A personal take on a Gibson super 400 – the Campellone Special stands out with its exuberant use of abalone and Art Deco flourishes. This is a responsive archtop with that classic jazz box bark – but it has enough light and shade available to make it a great instrument for a more nuanced approach.
Each week Jazz Guitar Today will feature one of the Archtop Foundation’s acquisitions from the Blue Guitar Collection with videos of luminary guitarist Ted Ludwig performing on each one.
