Australian Guitarist Zak Scerri Debuts London Trio Album

Published

His first release since moving from Australia, Zak Scerri presents ‘In Case I Don’t See You’ (May 8th), featuring Ross Anderson on double bass and Billy Pod on drums.

Steeped in jazz tradition but shaped by a broader musical upbringing, Scerri’s writing blends jazz language with groove-driven momentum and flashes of rock energy.

The album brings together nearly a decade of compositions, tied to a clear sense of transition following Scerri’s move to London. Each piece is rooted in a personal narrative — from the unsettled, in-between feeling of “Almost Home” to the more direct, high-energy close of “Roach,” which leans furthest into his rock background.

In the trio setting with Ross Anderson and Billy Pod, that range comes through naturally — shifting between groove-led sections, more lyrical material, and some more open, unfiltered moments.
