The Back Page: George Benson & Marc Silver, December 1969
This photo of George Benson and me was taken in December 1969 at the Detroit home of “Doc” Hyman, a local jazz guitar aficionado and patron of the arts.
Doc’s house is where all the heavy jazz cats hung out. He was a very special and unique gentleman, loved by many musicians. This is where George and his band were staying while in Detroit for his gig at Baker’s Keyboard Lounge. I was 16 years old. – Marc Silver
