In this 5th installment of Ted Ludwig’s Lick of the week, Ted features a line that works great on a ii-V-I in the Key of CMaj.
Cascading Chromatics ii-V-I. This line works great on a ii-V-I in the Key of CMaj. It employs the use of chromatic enclosure and cascading chromatic motifs. This type of line works great in a tune with long version (2 measure) ii-V-I changes. Try using this cascading chromatic motif to connect from one form to another. Thanks for tuning in! See you next time.
