Guitarist Ted Ludwig demonstrates John Monteleone’s Rocket Convertible from The Blue Guitar Collection – video #21 in the series.
John Monteleone’s Rocket Convertible brings together two themes that John was working on at the time that he received the commission to make a Blue Guitar. The Rocket part denotes the use of an oval soundhole as opposed to the F-Holes more commonly seen on archtops of the time. the Convertible bit – well, that’s where the fun begins – there are stainless steel sliding doors that can either open or close the side-mounted soundports and even the soundhole itself!
Jazz Guitar Today features the Archtop Foundation’s acquisitions from the Blue Guitar Collection with videos of luminary guitarist Ted Ludwig performing on each one.
Videos produced by Michael Watts with the Archtop Foundation.
