On The Tracks…Lionel Loueke
Jazz Guitar Today takes time to spotlight guitarists when they fill those guest performance shoes on tracks. On the tracks…once again we find Lionel Loueke.
Paulo Almeida’s latest album ‘Oferenda’ translates to ‘offering’ in Portuguese and is often related to the sacred and metaphysical. Drawing on his connection to Brazil’s rich traditions of music and spirituality, the Brazilian drummer offers us his fifth album as a bandleader as a representation of his deep gratitude for life.
‘Oferenda’ also features two special guests, Beninois guitar legend and longtime Herbie Hancock collaborator Lionel Loueke on guitar and voice, and Spanish percussionist Alberto Garcia on batás.
