The Jazz Corner – Jazz Guitar Today Stops In
The Jazz Corner is Hilton Head Island’s premier jazz showcase and supper club celebrating 21 years of presenting great jazz – not to mention some pretty delectable food.
A must visit while in the area, the Jazz Corner is one of the world’s great jazz venues. Jazz is presented nightly by top-flight national, international, regional and local musicians while food is served elegantly with a wine list that is well-curated along with impeccable service.
The Jazz Corner has a special relationship with guitar music.
Howard Paul (featured in top photo), CEO of Benedetto Guitars in nearby Savannah, has played and introduced such guitar greats to the club as Bucky Pizzarelli, John Pizzarelli, Howard Alden, Joe Negri, and Randy Napoleon.
The Junior Jazz Foundation, the philanthropic outreach of the Jazz Corner, sponsors a jazz camp each summer with guitarist Jackson Evans of Savannah teaching a popular jazz guitar clinic supported by a grant from the Les Paul Foundation.
Gypsy jazz impresario Frederic Gomes comes from Paris annually to present the music of Django Reinhardt with guitarists Dan Coy of Atlanta and Dr. Sasha Strunjas of Cincinnati.
