In this installment of Ted Ludwigβs Jazz ‘Lick of the Week’, Ted shows us how to handle the D-7b5 chord by applying the F melodic minor scale.
This line works great over a Minor ii-V-i. The important part of this lick is how we handle the D-7b5 chord by applying the F melodic minor scale. This creates an obvious minor 3rd shift to the Ab melodic minor scale over the G7alt. Practice different ways to connect between these forms. In this particular line, I resolved to the 9th of the C-9.
Good luck and thanks for dropping by!
