In this installment of Ted Ludwig’s Jazz ‘Lick of the Week’, Ted provides lick with a nice bebop cliche that every jazz musician should know.
Minor ii-V-i in the key of C minor. This line is created by using 2 melodic minor scales, the F melodic over the D-7b5 and the Ab melodic over the G7b13 chord. The important part of making long smooth lines is finding logical places to connect these 2 scale forms. This particular lick revolves and continues through the C-7 with a nice bebop cliche that every jazz musician should know.
Good luck and thanks for dropping by!Â
