JGT’s Bob Bakert talks to guitar builder Bob Benedetto about Bucky Pizzarelli’s guitar in the Smithsonian Museum.
Bob Bakert, Editor: It was an honor for me to “sit down” with Bob Benedetto and talk about a very famous instrument he built for none other than one of the all-time greats, Bucky Pizzarelli.  Bucky Pizzarelli’s Benedetto guitar has a permanent home in The Smithsonian! WOW! It was John Pizzareli’s Facebook post about visiting his father’s guitar at the Smithsonian that really hit me… What an incredible honor for Bucky, and Bob and, it has to be extremely emotionally moving for John. Â
Enjoy this interview with Bob and his recollections of Bucky, the process, and the wonderful relationship they had.  It doesn’t stop there. The interview got on a roll and Bob opened up with so many great stories and anecdotes.  If you’re a fan of archtops (if you’re not, why are you here) you will want to hear every word. Thank you Bob Benedetto for this interview and all that you have done for Archtop Guitar!
