In this video lesson, Davy Mooney considers the Sonny Rollins tune “Airegin.” He explores renditions by Miles Davis (with and without Sonny Rollins), Wes Montgomery, Sonny Stitt, Don Patterson, and Mike Moreno.

Of particular interest is the variety of interpretations of the melody on these various recordings.
