The Hot Club of Philadelphia Releases ‘Gypsy – Americana’

Published

on

Barry Wahrhaftig’s gypsy jazz band is dedicated to playing and preserving the music of Django Reinhardt – their latest album release is a great example of this dedication.

The Hot Club of Philadelphia was founded in 2001 by guitarist Barry Wahrhaftig. The present line up consists of Joseph Arnold-violin,  Zack Devine-guitar and Jim Stager, Dylan Taylor or Joshua Machiz on bass, as well as plenty of special guests, including the legendary Howard Alden on seven-string guitar.  The bands dedicated to ‘preserving the music of Django Reinhardt while adding their own style in the process.” Their latest release Gypsy-Americana is a good example of this style.
