Guitarists Bobby Broom & Isaiah Sharkey Join in Duet for Jazz Foundation’s COVID 19 Musicians’ Emergency Fund
Bobby Broom & Isaiah Sharkey join in a duet: Last week the Jazz Foundation of America, the charitable organization that has financially assisted so many jazz, blues, and roots musicians over the years, organized a live stream broadcast for their COVID 19 Musicians’ Emergency Fund. In lieu of their annual “Great Night In Harlem,” fundraising concert that usually takes place at New York’s famed Apollo Theater, the show’s producer and Foundation Artistic Director, Steve Jordan presented a grand, three-hour-long event, featuring performances and appearances by guest stars, too numerous to name, covering the full diversity of the aforementioned styles.
Among the presentation’s ‘jazz’ guitarists, including Marc Ribot and Stanley Jordan, was a soulful duet performance by Bobby Broom and Isaiah Sharkey. Here they are in their very first appearance together performing the apropos jazz standard, “We’ll Be Together Again.”
