Jazz Guitar Lessons
Mark Stefani’s Sound Thinking with Bass Lines
When it comes to jazz guitar and comping, one of the most popular techniques involves the use of walking bass lines and chords.

This lesson video edition centers on a simple two-chord vamp in the key of G minor. Beyond the solid bass moves courtesy of my upright mentors, observe the rhythm guitar syncopation that captures the essence of how a guitarist comps in a trio/quartet context.
Note: This lesson is reflective of concepts taught in the Swing Blues wing of Mark Stefani’s LBM program.
