Fans can stream the video, purchase the track, and make donations to MusicCares HERE. All profits generated from Twenty-Four on Six are donated to MusicCares Covid-19 Relief which has already helped thousands in the music industry community. This year the foundation has offered assistance to the greatest number of recipients than for any single event in the foundation’s history. Recognizing that this was one of the best ways musicians can help each other, Slim thought, “Twenty-Four On Six was my way of making the best of a tough situation….about the only good thing to come out of the Covid lockdown is that all these great players were at home at the same time—which has NEVER happened—and were all ready and willing to jump in and jam on this track! “
Contributors on the track include; Scott Holiday of Rival Sons, Paul Brown, John Osbourne of The Brothers Osbourne, Brandon “Taz” Niederauer, Justin Derrico (Pink,) Stanley Jordan, prodigy Justin Lee Schultz, Kenneth Crouch, Joe Ayoub, Chris Nix, Justin Glasco, Scott Henderson, David Ryan Harris, Joe Ayoub, and Latavius Mulzac.
Other ‘Friends’ include; Eric Johnson who shared “This project was a lot of fun for me and it happens to be a combo of two songs that I love! Honored to be a part of this music and for the cause it stands for!” Mark Lettieri from Snarky Puppy said, “I’m honored to be playing with Slim and this gang of monsters for such a great cause as MusicCares. Just wish I’d worn pants!” Mike Stern shares, “I was really happy to be included in this beautiful project. Slim worked his ass off on this ambitious production, and he played his ass off also! And the proceeds are of course going to Music Cares, which is such a wonderful organization, always helping musicians in need. And there are a lot of musicians in need of help nowadays. So I’m grateful and proud to have been able to make a small contribution! Vocalists Ace Young & Diana DeGarmo chime in, “Music has always been our creative outlet through good and bad times. Slim Gambill has put together one outstanding virtual band! We are always happy to help this wonderful cause. Tomorrow will be better if we keep helping each other today.“
In addition to assembling this large and dynamic array of talent Gambill is also a sideman and lead guitarist for the multi-platinum recording artist, Lady A. On November 6th, Slim released his new album LCD, his previous effort Fake Jazz & Theme Songs was released in the Fall of 2019.
