Jazz Guitar Today talks to Kennesaw State University about their approach to music education during COVID.

Jazz Guitar Today’s Bob Bakert talks to Kennesaw State University Jazz Studies professors Trey Wright (a frequent contributor to Jazz Guitar Today), Tyrone Jackson, and Sam Skelton about their approach to music education during COVID – including focusing on remote recording and audio production techniques for the jazz students at Kennesaw State University.


This video and recording of Herbie Hancock’s “Dolphin Dance” was performed by Tyrone Jackson’s combo, featuring Melodie Fort on vocals (and video production), Isaac Tuner on tenor saxophone, Zack Opitz on trombone, Carlos Diaz Hernandez on drums, Rodrigo Suarez on guitar and Tyrone Jackson on organ.  


This audio excerpt features guitarist Chris Marks backed by KSU Jazz Ensemble I under the direction of Sam Skelton performing Bob Florence’s arrangement of the jazz standard “Body and Soul”.
