JGT’s Bob Bakert talks to Giuseppe Continenza about an upcoming tour, “The Music of Django Reinhardt” with a symphony orchestra and BirĂ©li Lagrène.
Giuseppe Continenza: “Next December, BirĂ©li Lagrène and I will start a tour called “The Music of Django Reinhardt” with a symphony orchestra – we also plan to record a live album. The arrangement will be by Roberto Molinelli, a great arranger, and symphony orchestra director! We are also planning a project for next summer where I will play with Al Di Meola and a symphony orchestra “The Music of Astor Piazzolla”. And a quartet with BirĂ©li, Billy Cobham, and me.”
“I also plan to join Jimmy Bruno and Frank Vignola for some concerts – we talked about it! We were scheduling some concerts with this guitar trio last year but all the pandemic problems made us postponed.”
