In this installment of Ted Ludwigβs Jazz ‘Lick of the Week’, Ted plays a lick over a minor ii V I in the key of C minor.
This weekβs lick is played over a minor ii V I in the key of C minor. We can really get some great sounds by using F Melodic Minor over the D half-diminished chord. The V7 chord is always altered tension when resolving to a minor i. The minor bebop scale is also used against the i-7 chord to include both natural and flatted 7 scale degrees. Try creating some of your own lines using this technique.
Good luck and thanks for dropping by!
