The 7 Virtual Jazz Club’s Contest Begins!

The eight edition of the 7 Virtual Jazz Club contest officially begins September 19, 2022.

7 Virtual Jazz Club is an APS association founded in 2016 by Valerio Pappi and Giorgia Stefania Gabetto, dedicated to the support of jazz music in all its forms. Their goal is to promote top-quality jazz performances and to discover new talents, through a virtual platform.

8th Edition Categories

Under 25: soloists and bands aged 25 years or younger. All nationalities are welcome provided the artist is fully independent (i.e. no booking agent, no recording company or publisher)

Pros & Amateurs: all other musicians not belonging to the Under 25 category.

How To Apply

To enter the contest, soloists and groups pay a small registration fee (waived for Ukraine musicians) then submit a video performance. Both original and non-original pieces are accepted. Entries will be judged by a panel of 30 international jazz experts including respected journalists, musicians and educators in the field.

Prizes & Awards

Prizes go to the top two in each category and include cash, paid live concerts at Jazz Club Ferrara, Urbino Plays Jazz 2023 and others; scholarship at the International Summer Workshop 2023 in Siena (Italy); a masterclass at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam; a paid live concert at jazzahead! CLUB NIGHT 2023 and artistic consulting by Chronograph Records (Canada); as well as special prizes by All About Jazz, Jazzfuel and many others. Prizes will also rewarded to best soloist, best arrangement, best original composition and an innovation prize.
