Jazz School
2nd Annual Jazz Guitar at Wildacres Retreat Featuring Dave Stryker in October
Renowned guitarist/educator Dave Stryker will be returning to North Carolina to teach a jazz guitar retreat this October 18-22.
The event will be held at the secluded Wildacres Retreat Center in the mountains near Little Switzerland. More information about the retreat and retreat center is available at www.jazzguitaratwildacres.com
The retreat is for those who already can play some jazz on guitar but want to take their playing to the next level. Instruction will feature improvising, comping, and playing with a rhythm section. There will be an opportunity to perform during the final concert, also.
Dave was Stanley Turrentine’s guitarist for 10 years and has 35 cd’s to date recorded as leader. He is currently serving as jazz professor at Rutgers University, Indiana University, and Montclair State University. The Dave Stryker trio was the opening act last summer for the east coast Steely Dan tour.
