Jazz guitarist Vince Lewis continues his JGT Arrangement Series with the Hal David/Burt Bacharach classic, “What The World Needs Now”.
“What The World Needs Now” is a classic Hal David and Burt Bacharach written in 1965. It was originally recorded by Pop Artist Jackie DeShannon, and in 2008 the recording was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame. It had been previously turned down by Dionne Warwick.
A fairly simple Jazz Waltz with a catchy melody line it has become a staple of Jazz Musicians over these years. The alternating chord changes at the beginning move into a very cool and unique modulation into the bridge section. This arrangement is a medium level Chord Melody Chart and should be fun for most level of player.
