New Album From Melissa Stylianou Featuring Gene Bertoncini
New Melissa Stylianou album featuring Gene Bertoncini on guitar and Ike Sturm on bass – “Dream Dancing” out June 17, 2022 on Anzic Records.
Melissa Stylianou, accomplished vocalist and one-third of the powerhouse vocal jazz trio Duchess, announces the long-awaited debut of a project near to her heart: an intimate trio with sought-after bassist and composer Ike Sturm and the great nylon-string jazz guitar legend Gene Bertoncini. Dream Dancing is a riveting document of the trio’s effortless rapport as they explore well-loved standards and a moving Bertoncini original, “For Chet” (an homage to the guitarist’s one-time employer, Chet Baker).
The album will be released on Wednesday June 15, 2022 on Anzic Records. The trio will play a CD Release show at Mezzrow Jazz Club in NYC on Sunday August 7, with more dates to follow in the Fall of 2022.
