New Release From Danish Guitarist Rasmus Oppenhagen Krogh
Danish guitarist and composer Rasmus Oppenhagen Krogh presents his fourth album as a bandleader, Pillars.

Musically, Pillars balances clear song structures with rich, intricate harmonic foundations. Krogh draws on influences from jazz, indie, rock, film scores, electronic music, and pop, creating a genre-fluid universe in which the ensemble’s improvisational voices shape each piece. Krogh’s guitar takes the lead, acting as a melodic guide, while the production – crafted alongside longtime collaborator Rasmus Juncker (Yör, Anna Roemer, Little North) – adds depth and texture, highlighting the album’s bold and multi-faceted sonic identity.
Produced with longtime collaborator Rasmus Juncker, Pillars features some of Denmark’s finest players (including Anders Christensen, Lars Greve, and Simon Toldam), whose interplay gives the music both depth and spontaneity. The result is a bold, multi-faceted statement that places Krogh’s guitar at its emotional core.
The record reflects on the “pillars” of life – those defining moments and feelings that shape who we are – while musically balancing clear song structures with rich, layered harmony. Drawing inspiration from jazz, indie, film scores, electronic music, and pop, Krogh creates a genre-fluid sound world where improvisation and texture play equal roles.
