Fareed Haque on Pat Martino’s “Joyous Lake” and so much more
In this video interview, guitarist Fareed Haque talks about the influence of Pat Martino’s “Joyous Lake” project.
Fareed talks specifically about what it means to Fareed to contribute to the new “Joyous Lake” tribute project. Fareed speaks to the immense influence of Pat Martino on modern jazz guitar and indeed the aforementioned 1977 recording. I believe that Joyous Lake hit like a tsunami redefining the role of electric guitar in contemporary jazz.
Fareed was inspired the day of our conversation and spoke about so many subjects near and dear to jazz guitarists. With candor and transparency enjoy Fareed Haque.
